A nutmeg forest of a thousand years
Nearly 2,800 Bija (nutmeg) trees, each aged between 500 and 800 years, cover the sky in one of the largest single-species forests in the world.
Designated as the 374th Natural Monument of Korea, Bijarim offers an accessible route into the heart of nature.
The edge of the forest is dotted with nutmeg trees that are said to be of a thousand years.
